PARTNERING THROUGH INNOVATION
November 8 - 11, 2009

SESSIONS

Breakout sessions are role-specific, geared towards learning to better utilize PaperWise in your position. Classes are based on four focused roles: Business Manager, IT Administrator, Scripter/Programmer, and End User. Because definitions of roles vary between organization or industries, we have put together the following role descriptions.

Business Managers (MGR) make strategic decisions about how PaperWise is used while managing those who use it; their focus is more managerial than technical.

IT Administrators (ADM), on the other hand, oversee the technical details of the PaperWise system. Duties for this role may include creating users, administering rights, creating file cabinets, and determining the best upgrade solutions.

Scripter (SCR) and Programmers (PRO) have the most technical role with the capability of creating scripts and integrations for the PaperWise system. Those attending classes in this track should have some programming experience.

End Users (EU) are those who use PaperWise on a regular basis and would like to expand their competency in using the system.

Although breakout sessions are organized based on intended audience, attendees are free to pick classes based on area of need; focused roles are merely to indicate which classes might be better suited for different positions.

Intro to Script

The PaperWise Scripting Language is at the heart of our screen scraping and integration technology. By scripting, you can manipulate, pull information, and send information to other systems. In addition, you can manipulate and extend your PaperWise applications. Because of the simplicity of most scripting languages, scripting is often seen as being easier than writing programs and plug-ins. However, don’t be fooled by the simplicity; scripting in PaperWise is a very fast and powerful way to extend your applications. As the prerequisite for other sessions in the Scripter Track, this session will introduce you to the PaperWise Scripting Language.

Event Scripting

Plug-ins are used to respond to events thrown by your PaperWise applications, as well as to replace default functionality. Traditional plug-ins are written in programming languages like VB6, VB.NET, C#, and C++. Because they are compiled into a binary format, they are not as easily changed as script files. Event scripting allows you to create VBScript files that respond to events, without using more complex programming environments. In this session, we will teach you how to build scripted plug-ins for Query, ImageWise, and SendTo.
